About Scott

We are born many times throughout our life through many significant moments. I was born in Houston Texas in 1980 and was given the birth name Scott Marmorstein. According to my mother and doctors, I came into this world merely cooing. My eyes were wide open, surveying all, as though I knew I had an important amount of work to do while here. The doctors did eventually get me to cry (to make sure I was responsive). Before I was born they told my mom I might be triplets! Is everything really bigger in Texas? Maybe...that was my birth in this body, anyway.

Another significant birth I had was at the age of eight. By this time we were living in Up State New York with our Guru. My parents, you may guess were hippies of a rather discerning nature, always sought ways for lasting peace and happiness. They found teachers that lived in and taught the methods to reaching that state of consciousness. Anyway, my Guru was in the habit of giving Indian names to people and children. I wanted one very much so I asked her for one. She gave me the name Uddhava, which is pronounced Ooh-dah-vah. It means Sacrificial Fire. Uddhava was Lord Krishnaʼs cousin and most devoted disciple next to Arjuna from the Bhagavad Gita. Uddhava was a rare mixture of jnani (intelligence) and bhakti (heart) and was most adored by Krishna.

It felt special and unique to be given this name, as all the other kids were getting names like Krishna and Ram, etc. Really, we were all special (and still are), I just didn’t know it back then. To this day I feel we are all equally gifted in different ways, offering much to the whole of our existence.

When I was nine, living in India (at my Guruʼs mother Ashram) my third eye blew wide open and I saw the entire world in living color. I canʼt say what this was consequent to, but I began to see deeply into the nature of things in ways I couldn’t explain. I was also very quiet as a child, and as a teen I didn’t really rebel against anyone except for my peers.

I spent so many years (over 20 years) meditating, chanting, and letting my soul flourish. I also studied a lot, went to school, graduated high school, and decided against college as I was a voracious reader and writer, feeling these were sufficient talents on their own to get me through life. I had a penchant for healing, as it seems to run in my family. My father is a chiropractor, and my mother is a psychic healer.

When I was a child of four I got very sick, and my fatherʼs attempts to adjust me did not make my fever (which was an astounding 107 degrees) did not break. My mom decided to clean my aura even though she didn’t know how. She merely began visualizing the process and waving her hands through the rays of my aura. Five minutes later my fever broke and from that day forward she began working on any and every person she could get to lay still on a table for her.

When I was 24 I became a licensed massage therapist here in Texas and began unraveling some of my more interesting gifts. My mom taught me a lot, and then my spirit guide came and taught me more. Towards the end of 2007 I met with John Friend, founder of Anusara Yoga, to help him out of a tight spot (he wasn’t feeling too well) and help him I did. I kept meeting with him to treat him and it was suggested that I come along on his tour to help out his friends while he taught them yoga. I agreed, and in March of 2008 I went on my first tour of the Nation with him and started helping a lot of people.

I’ve probably seen a thousand people or so since then and have had a large rate of success.  I am now teaching workshops on the heart of my healing philosophy and am beginning to structure a type of learning environment for more serious practitioners of my particular brand of healing (Source Healing Energy).
